Each chair features an elegantly shaped walnut frame enriched with subtle carved detailing, giving the pair a refined and highly decorative appearance. The timber displays an attractive natural grain, warm colour and rich patina that complement the traditional upholstery particularly well. The upholstered backs and seats are covered in tapestry fabric with intricate patterns and varied tones, adding considerable texture and period character to the chairs. Each armchair is raised upon finely turned legs fitted with original castors, an attractive surviving period detail that contributes to their authenticity and practical mobility. The chairs are of excellent quality, with solid construction and well-balanced proportions.
