The fender features an elaborate pierced gallery composed of repeating interlocking circular motifs, creating an attractive openwork pattern across the front and side returns. Particularly distinctive are the substantial sculptural end supports, with scrolling forms and raised cast detailing that give the piece a strong architectural presence. Crafted entirely from cast iron, the fender has been reclaimed and restored while retaining the character and patination expected of an authentic Victorian fireplace accessory. The dark polished finish accentuates the depth and definition of the original casting. Complete with its removable bottom tray or hearth section as shown, this is both a decorative and practical period fireplace accessory. Its unusual pierced construction and ornate end supports make it particularly appealing for a Victorian or traditionally styled interior. Presented in good antique condition with appropriate age-related wear and patination.
