The richly figured burr walnut exhibits remarkable natural grain and warm colour throughout, beautifully complemented by contrasting amboyna and finely executed decorative inlay. The credenza features two elegant curved glazed display compartments positioned to either side of the central cupboard. Each compartment retains its original curved glass and is fitted internally with two fixed shelves and a velvet-lined interior, providing an elegant setting for displaying porcelain, glassware or decorative objects. The central cupboard is particularly striking, with a pair of original mirrored doors opening to reveal two fixed internal shelves. The mirrors add depth and light to the composition while providing a sophisticated contrast against the richly figured timber.

Raised upon elegant turned legs, the credenza has a refined and beautifully balanced profile despite its substantial proportions. Presented in excellent antique condition with a solid and sturdy construction. The original mirrors and curved glass remain intact, and the piece is accompanied by its original key. An exceptional statement piece of Victorian cabinet furniture, combining burr walnut, amboyna, intricate inlay, curved glazing and mirrored detailing in a highly decorative and sophisticated design.
