The lamp stands upon a substantial serial-numbered triangular bronze plinth, supporting an elaborately modelled two-stage base terminating in three pronounced claw feet. Rising above is a finely proportioned multi-stage column incorporating stepped lower sections, a tapered shaft and decorative capital, creating a strong architectural silhouette characteristic of sophisticated victorian decorative lighting. The lamp is crowned by a particularly attractive hand-moulded empire-form glass shade, delicately tinted in pale pink. Its softly translucent coloration provides a warm, flattering glow when illuminated and creates an elegant contrast against the aged bronze metalwork. Period details include the bronze b22 bayonet bulb holder, brown bakelite pear-form inline switch and an early mk three-round-pin bakelite plug. The lamp has been professionally rewired in period-appropriate fabric-braided three-core cable, earthed and tested. A substantial and highly decorative antique lamp, ideally suited to a library, drawing room, bedside table, console or traditionally furnished interior. Material bronze, hand-moulded tinted glass and bakelite measurements displayed in photos.
