The substantial horse … Read more A striking large vintage equestrian sculpture, standing approximately 20 inches tall and crafted from solid cast aluminium. The substantial horse head is beautifully sculpted with strong definition to the facial features, neck and flowing mane, giving the piece an impressive sense of movement and character. The sculpture has been highly polished to achieve a remarkable mirror-like silver finish, allowing the surface to catch and reflect light from different angles. Its weight and solid construction give it a substantial presence, making it particularly effective as a statement piece. The sculpture appears to have been produced using traditional sand-casting techniques, whereby molten aluminium is poured into a mould before being removed, finished and extensively polished. The high-shine surface appears to be the result of considerable hand-finishing and polishing rather than a plated or resin construction.
