The lamp displays the decorative influence of the arts & crafts and art nouveau traditions carried into the mid-20th century, with an elegant architectural profile and warm golden finish. The hand-moulded glass shade is particularly attractive, displaying subtle variations in colour and iridescence that become increasingly pronounced when illuminated. Its broad mushroom-form shade creates a soft, atmospheric light while giving the lamp a strong sculptural silhouette. Brass construction provides a complementary warm metallic tone, while the naturally aged surfaces retain the character and patination of the period. The lamp retains a b22 bayonet bulb fitting and original bakelite inline switch. A highly decorative piece of vintage french lighting suitable for a console, side table, desk or bedside setting.
