The upper section features a pair of glazed doors opening to reveal two internal shelves, creating three useful display levels for ceramics, glassware, books or decorative objects. The glazed construction allows the contents to remain visible while providing a more protected display environment. Below is a generously proportioned worktop positioned at a practical height of 93 cm, providing a useful preparation or display surface and reinforcing the dresser's origins as a functional piece of household furniture. The lower section incorporates two useful drawers, each fitted with decorative brass handles that contrast beautifully with the warm colouring of the pitch pine. Beneath the drawers, a pair of panelled doors opens to reveal a spacious cupboard with a single internal shelf, providing excellent concealed storage. The dresser stands upon a substantial plinth base, giving the piece a strong and well-balanced presence. Throughout, the pitch pine displays attractive natural figuring, rich golden tones and an established patina that gives the dresser considerable warmth and period character. Despite its substantial 188.5 cm height, the relatively shallow 40.5 cm depth makes the dresser particularly practical for modern interiors, providing considerable storage without projecting excessively into the room. For ease of handling and transportation, the dresser separates into two principal sections. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its 19th-century Victorian origin. A highly attractive and versatile example of Victorian English furniture, combining beautifully aged pitch pine, glazed display space, useful drawers and generous cupboard storage.
