The frog is modelled in a dramatic extended pose, creating a strong impression of movement and making the sculpture particularly effective when positioned beside a pond, swimming pool, fountain or ornamental water feature. Naturalistic modelling throughout the body and limbs gives the piece excellent sculptural presence. Cast in solid bronze, the fountain has a rich traditional finish that will naturally develop additional patination and character when exposed to the elements. The sculpture is designed as a functional water spitter, with an internal copper pipe already running through the body. When connected to a suitable water supply or pump, water flows directly from the frog's mouth, creating an attractive stream into the surrounding pond or pool. The base incorporates four pre-drilled mounting holes, allowing the sculpture to be securely fixed to stonework, paving, a pedestal or another suitable surface. This also provides considerable flexibility when incorporating the frog into a bespoke landscape or water-feature design. At approximately 80 cm in scale, this is a substantial decorative bronze with excellent visual impact, equally attractive as a standalone garden sculpture when the fountain function is not being used.
