The crankshaft is positioned vertically, allowing its complex arrangement of journals, counterweights and mechanical forms to become the central feature of the design. Normally concealed deep within an engine, the component takes on an entirely different character when presented as a freestanding sculptural object. Finished in a spectacular candy red chrome-effect coating, the crankshaft displays a deep, highly reflective metallic surface that accentuates every contour of its intricate engineering. The rich red finish changes subtly with surrounding light, giving the piece considerable visual depth and presence. A substantial circular base provides stability while complementing the industrial character of the crankshaft. Above, a clear circular glass tabletop allows the sculptural mechanical structure beneath to remain fully visible from virtually every angle. The combination of transparent glass, vivid metallic finish and exposed engineering creates a particularly dramatic contrast, transforming an authentic automotive component into an unconventional yet sophisticated piece of furniture. Its proportions make it particularly versatile as a side table, drinks table, occasional table or decorative pedestal. It would make an outstanding focal point within a luxury residence, office, home bar, private garage, showroom or automotive collection. A distinctive fusion of automotive engineering, industrial design and contemporary sculpture, offering an unusual opportunity to display the mechanical beauty of a v8 crankshaft as a functional piece of furniture See less
