Measuring an imposing 62 cm in diameter, the fixture is centred around a broad white polycarbonate opaline diffuser held within a heavy-gauge polished brass four-arm saddle. The restrained hemispherical form and warm metallic framework give the piece a sophisticated modernist character typical of high-quality mid-century architectural lighting. A substantial polished brass perimeter cage follows the profile of the diffuser and converges beneath it at a decorative cast-brass finial. Internally, the original four-arm steel structure supports four light fittings with brass b22 bayonet bulb holders, providing considerably more illumination than a typical single-light pendant. The chandelier is suspended from a central metal shaft terminating in a moulded, height-adjustable polished brass ceiling plate with its original hanging mechanism. The combination of its generous proportions, clean geometry and contrasting white and brass finish gives the fixture considerable presence without appearing overly ornate. Freshly rewired with three-core cable, earthed and tested, and reported to be in full working order.
