Of circular serpentine form, the salver is framed by an elaborate gadrooned wirework border enriched with finely modelled scallop shell motifs in relief. The combination of flowing contours and classical ornamentation gives the piece an impressive and sophisticated presence. The salver is raised upon three elegant cabriole legs, each embellished with applied acanthus leaf motifs, further enhancing its traditional Georgian character. Crafted from heavy-gauge solid sterling silver, the piece has an exceptionally substantial net silver weight of approximately 1,544.4 grams, reflecting its quality and impressive construction. Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1947. Presented in very good vintage condition with only minor age-related surface marks. There are no noted bruises, damage or repairs, and the piece remains free from later engraved presentation inscriptions or monograms.
