The composition centres on a stylised female dancer figure, modelled in bronzed and gilt-finished spelter with an attractive naturally aged patina. The elongated figure and theatrical pose capture the glamour and movement that became defining motifs of French Art Deco decorative arts during the 1920s and 1930s. The sculpture supports an original-style hand-moulded glass globe shade, which provides a soft diffused light and creates a particularly dramatic effect when illuminated. The warm bronze tones of the figure contrast beautifully with the glass, giving the lamp a strong sculptural presence even when switched off. Standing approximately 66 cm high, this is a substantial decorative lamp well suited to a console, side table, cocktail cabinet or as a statement piece within an Art Deco-inspired interior. The lamp has been professionally rewired and is presented in working order. Beautiful period condition with natural ageing and patination consistent with its age.
