The lamp features a finely proportioned columnar body in aged brass, rising through a series of stepped and moulded sections that give the piece a distinctly architectural character. The naturally developed patina enhances the warmth of the metal and complements its early 20th-century appearance. Above sits a hand-made bell-form glass shade, softly diffusing the light and creating a warm atmospheric glow when illuminated. The combination of brass and decorative glass reflects the transition between late Arts & Crafts and Edwardian decorative design. The lamp retains a B22 bayonet bulb fitting and period Bakelite components. Its relatively slender proportions make it particularly suitable for a bedside table, writing desk, console or library setting.
