The tall composition centres on a finely modelled classical female figure, depicted in flowing drapery with her arms raised above her head. She stands upon an elaborate foliate pedestal with scrolling feet, creating a richly ornamental silhouette inspired by earlier Rococo and Classical decorative traditions. Rising above the figure is an elegant open brass framework supporting a distinctive hand-made cranberry glass bell shade. The glass features a textured body and dramatically ruffled rim, with rich ruby-red coloration that becomes particularly vibrant when illuminated and casts a wonderfully warm atmospheric light. Standing approximately 71 cm high, the lamp has considerable presence and functions equally well as decorative sculpture and statement lighting. Its combination of sculptural gilt metal and coloured art glass makes it particularly suited to a console, side table, entrance hall, drawing room or richly layered traditional interior. Presented in beautiful period condition with natural ageing and minor wear consistent with its age. Material Gilt metal, brass and hand-made cranberry glass Measurements displayed in photos.
