The upper section features a substantial double-door cupboard opening to reveal two internal shelves, providing generous concealed storage. The doors are enriched with striking copper panels and decorative detailing, creating a dramatic contrast against the warm tones of the oak. Below, a large full-width drawer provides additional practical storage and retains its original handle and fittings. The surrounding oak framework is extensively carved, reflecting the elaborate historicist character associated with the Jacobean Revival movement. The cabinet is raised upon beautifully turned legs united by a substantial cross stretcher, providing excellent stability while contributing to its strong architectural silhouette. Particularly appealing is the combination of materials. The richly figured oak displays deep, warm tones and an attractive aged patina, while the copper elements provide contrasting colour, texture and considerable decorative interest. Presented in very good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its 19th-century origin. For ease of transportation and installation, the cabinet separates into two principal sections. A rare and highly decorative statement cabinet combining elaborate carving, unusual copper detailing and practical storage, ideally suited to a grand hallway, dining room, library or sophisticated eclectic interior.
