The sideboard has a handsome, well-balanced façade, with two cupboards positioned symmetrically to either side. The left-hand cupboard opens to reveal a useful internal shelf, providing generous concealed storage for tableware, linens or serving pieces. The right-hand cupboard is similarly fitted with an internal shelf but additionally incorporates dedicated bottle storage, making the sideboard particularly well suited to a dining room or entertaining space. Centrally positioned are three useful drawers, each retaining its original decorative brass handles. These provide convenient additional storage for cutlery, serving accessories and other smaller household items while adding attractive period detail to the façade. A raised gallery runs along the top, lending the piece additional architectural presence and reinforcing its traditional Jacobean-inspired character. The sideboard is raised upon elegant turned legs united by substantial supporting stretchers. This traditional construction provides excellent stability while contributing considerably to the decorative character and strong silhouette of the piece. Throughout, the oak displays a particularly attractive natural grain with a deep, rich colour and established patina, giving the sideboard warmth and character.

At 153 cm wide, the piece offers substantial storage and an excellent 91.5 cm-high serving surface while remaining manageable enough for a wide variety of interiors. It would make an excellent addition to a dining room, drawing room or substantial hallway. The sideboard retains its key and is presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. A highly desirable example of Jacobean-style English furniture, combining beautifully aged oak, original brass hardware, dedicated bottle storage and generous practical capacity with handsome traditional proportions.
