An impressive Victorian bronze figural table lamp dating to circa 1875, centred around a sculptural representation of the Three Graces and crowned by a large hand-moulded art-glass globe. The substantial bronze body depicts three classically inspired female figures arranged around the central stem, their raised arms supporting the light above. Rich modelling, flowing drapery and ornamental detailing give the lamp a distinctly sculptural character, reflecting the Victorian fascination with Classical Revival imagery and increasingly elaborate decorative objects. The figures rise from an ornate bronze pedestal with foliate detailing, mounted upon a contrasting stepped black circular base. Above is a large neckless spherical glass shade with richly mottled pink, amber, cream and white coloration. When illuminated, the hand-moulded glass produces a particularly warm and atmospheric glow.
Standing 63 cm high, the lamp has substantial decorative presence and works equally well as an illuminated sculpture, statement table lamp or centrepiece within a traditional or eclectic interior.
