The large moulded glass shade features holophane’s characteristic deeply ribbed prismatic surface, engineered to reflect and refract light while reducing glare. The textured glass gives the pendant a particularly sculptural appearance, creating a luminous play of light across its surface when illuminated. The shade is held within an original substantial two-part gilt brass and bronze gallery, finished with an upper grab ring and suspended from its original gilded bronze chain. Above is an ornate gilt brass ceiling rose with flowing art nouveau-inspired detailing, introducing a decorative contrast to the more architectural form of the glass. The fixture retains its original brass b22 bayonet bulb holder and has been professionally rewired with period-appropriate fabric-braided three-core cable. It has been earthed, tested and is reported to be in full working order.
