Very well made and of good quality, these handsome matching chairs combine the decorative richness associated with Victorian furniture with generously upholstered seating, offering an excellent balance of comfort, craftsmanship and visual appeal. Each chair is extensively decorated with highly detailed carving, demonstrating considerable attention to detail and giving the set a distinctive and characterful appearance. The chairs feature generously overstuffed seats together with padded backs, upholstered in an attractive beige-coloured material. The neutral upholstery provides a subtle contrast against the rich warm tones of the oak while allowing the carved timber frames to remain the principal decorative feature. Each chair is raised on beautifully turned legs united by supporting stretchers, providing both structural stability and an attractive traditional silhouette. The chairs are also fitted with castors, providing additional practicality and allowing them to be moved more easily when required. The oak has matured beautifully, displaying gorgeous natural grain, rich warm colouring and attractive tonal variation throughout. The aged timber particularly enhances the depth and definition of the extensive carved decoration. All four chairs have solid frames with no unwanted movement, providing confidence for continued use while retaining the character expected from genuine 19th-century furniture. Their combination of elaborate carving, comfortable upholstered seats and backs, turned legs, supporting stretchers and beautifully matured oak makes this a particularly desirable matching set.

Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with their 19th-century origin. A highly characterful set of four Victorian oak dining chairs combining impressive craftsmanship, generous upholstery and richly decorative period detailing, ideal for bringing warmth and distinction to a traditional dining interior.
