Cast in iron and mounted on steel bases, the pair has a commanding presence ideally suited to the entrance of a country estate, grand residence, hotel, lodge or landscaped garden. Each pedestal is embellished with classical cast iron laurel wreath emblems, complementing the traditional sporting character of the hounds above. The dogs are individually modelled with expressive features and naturalistic proportions, creating an imposing yet elegant pair when positioned either side of an entrance, gateway or driveway. Finished in raw, naturally weathering iron, the surfaces are intended to develop and evolve with exposure to the elements. The appearance may deepen during wetter months and develop lighter rust tones during warmer, drier periods, giving the pieces an attractive aged and architectural character. Visible construction and welding marks are inherent to their handmade fabrication and industrial character.
