The design features a large hand-moulded, ginger-tinted crinkle glass shade surrounded by a flared cylindrical jacket constructed from lacquered rattan cane. The open rattan framework creates a distinctive architectural silhouette while allowing the amber glass to cast a warm, atmospheric glow when illuminated. The shade incorporates its original metal carrier and internal structural fittings, suspended from a heavy three-core cable with cable lock and finished with the original chrome-plated ceiling plate. A particularly decorative example of Scandinavian mid-century lighting, combining organic materials and bold period design. It would work especially well above a dining table, in an entrance hall or as an accent pendant within a mid-century or contemporary interior. The fixture has been wired, earthed and tested and is in working order.
