Below, the substantial pierced base is decorated with further foliate scrollwork and floral motifs, terminating in three shaped feet.

Originally conceived as a candlestick, the piece was subsequently adapted for use as a lamp stand. It is currently offered without electrical wiring, allowing it to be displayed as a decorative candlestick or professionally rewired and converted into a distinctive table lamp. The gilt surface has developed an attractive antique patina, with rubbing, minor losses, surface variation and other signs of age that complement its decorative character.
