The sculptural bronze figure is finely detailed throughout, with articulated armour and classical styling giving the lamp a strong architectural and historical presence. The naturally aged bronze surface has developed an attractive period patina that contrasts beautifully with the rich colour of the glass. Above the figure is an unusual cranberry-tinted bell-form glass shade, combining frosted and acid-etched decoration. When illuminated, the shade produces a particularly warm atmospheric glow while highlighting its delicate surface treatment and graduated cranberry colouring. The combination of sculptural bronze and coloured art glass makes this an impressive example of early 20th-century decorative lighting, equally suited to an Art Deco, Classical Revival or traditionally furnished interior. Its relatively tall proportions make it particularly effective as a statement lamp on a console, side table, desk or pedestal. The lamp incorporates brass and Bakelite electrical components with a B22 fitting and is presented in beautiful period condition, retaining natural patination and age-related wear consistent with its age. Material Bronze, brass, cranberry-tinted acid-etched and frosted glass, Bakelite Measurements displayed in photos.
