A striking French Art Deco table lamp dating to circa 1920, combining a sculptural silver-plated metal body with an elegant opaline glass shade. The architectural form takes inspiration from early 20th-century street and architectural lighting, translated into a highly decorative table lamp. The silver-plated body has a strong geometric profile characteristic of the Art Deco period, while the contrasting opaline glass provides a softer element to the design. The substantial moulded glass shade produces a warm, diffused illumination when lit and creates an impressive decorative presence even when switched off. Its combination of silvered metal and white opaline glass makes the lamp particularly suitable for both period and contemporary interiors. An attractive and unusual example of original French Art Deco lighting from the 1920s.
