The upper section features two glazed display cupboards, providing attractive spaces for displaying glassware, ceramics, collectibles and decorative objects. Positioned centrally between them is a bevel-edged mirror, creating an elegant focal point above the generous worktop. The lower section incorporates two useful drawers above a spacious two-door cupboard fitted with a single internal shelf, offering excellent concealed storage for tableware, linens and other household items. The sideboard retains its original handles and fittings, an appealing feature that helps preserve the character and integrity of the piece. Decorative detailing throughout reflects the craftsmanship and design principles associated with the Arts and Crafts movement, while the substantial construction gives the sideboard considerable presence and practicality. Throughout, the oak displays particularly attractive natural grain, rich warm colouring and established character. The combination of richly toned timber, glazed display sections and the central bevelled mirror creates a particularly impressive and decorative composition. For ease of transportation and installation, the sideboard separates into two sections. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. There is a small crack to one corner of an upper glass pane, as shown in the photographs. This is relatively unobtrusive in person and does not detract significantly from the overall appearance or functionality of the piece. A highly desirable Arts and Crafts sideboard combining beautiful oak, glazed display cupboards, a bevel-edged mirror, generous worktop, practical drawer and cupboard storage, and original handles and fittings within an impressive and beautifully balanced design.
