The large bell-shaped glass shade is moulded with pronounced vertical prismatic ribs, designed to diffuse and refract the light while reducing glare. Its softly flared, scalloped lower edge adds a decorative quality to the otherwise architectural form, creating an attractive balance between industrial and traditional lighting design. Above the glass is a substantial domed and stepped bronzed brass gallery with ventilation apertures, original locking bolts and an upper suspension ring. The original internal fittings include a brass b22 bayonet bulb holder. The pendant hangs from its original bronzed brass interlink chain and matching hooked ceiling rose. The generous chain length gives the fixture a strong vertical presence and also allows the overall drop to be shortened where required. Professionally rewired with period-appropriate fabric-braided cable, tested and reported to be in full working order.
