The fixture centres around a large, deeply formed scalloped-edge glass plafonnier bowl, decorated with an etched border, graduated pigmentation and an engraved starburst motif to the centre. The gently fluted and scalloped profile gives the glass an architectural quality characteristic of sophisticated interwar lighting.

The bowl is suspended from three heavy bronze anchor points and original bronze chains, rising to a substantial stylised bronze ceiling plate.

A particularly attractive feature is the decorative brass and alabaster central drop canopy, introducing another luxurious material to the composition and providing an elegant focal point beneath the glass.

The combination of etched glass, warm aged bronze, brass and alabaster creates a beautifully balanced period fixture that produces a soft atmospheric light when illuminated. It would make an impressive addition to an entrance hall, dining room, drawing room, bedroom or sophisticated Art Deco interior.

The fixture retains its bronze and ceramic Edison screw-fit bulb holder and has been professionally rewired in period-appropriate three-core fabric-braided cable, earthed, tested and presented in working order.
