Standing an impressive 71 cm high, the lamp has a tall, architectural presence characteristic of french decorative lighting of the period. The composition incorporates a sculptural figural element in gilt bronze, contrasted against the cool tones and natural figuring of the marble base. The lamp is crowned by a globe-form shade, creating a strong geometric counterpoint to the figurative metalwork below. Brass and gilt bronze details throughout lend warmth to the composition, while the substantial marble provides both visual weight and stability. The lamp retains a b22 bayonet bulb fitting together with a period-style art deco inline switch.
