Made in 1955 by Alva Museum Replica, this is the Winged Victory of Samothrace — the Nike that stands at the head of the Daru staircase in the Louvre. Carved around 190 BC, found on Samothrace in 1863, headless and armless since antiquity, and arguably the most famous sculpture in the world that nobody can picture the face of. The original is Parian marble at roughly eight feet; this is a cast reduction in plaster or bonded composite with an antiqued cream finish. (Marble table in photos is not included).
