A charming pair of antique early 20th century solid white oak stools in an alpine or folk style, likely from Switzerland. The cutout trestle supports are joined by a stretcher that is secured with a wood wedge key, typical of traditional alpine construction and form. The old oak is stout and strong and the seats are sturdy. This pair could be used as stools or low side tables.
Measurements 17.5"H x 15.5"L x 10.5"D
When these stools were acquired they were slightly rough to the touch so the surface of the wood was lightly sanded and sealed to give a smooth hand feel. The construction of the stools is solid. Random imperfections in the wood due to age and use.
