The oval top … Read more An elegant English Victorian work table, circa 1835-1860 (William IV/early Victoria period), crafted from walnut or mahogany. The oval top consists of a fixed rectangular central section flanked by two rounded drop leaves which, when raised, form a complete oval.

Below the top, a drawer with a curved front is fitted with its original brass ring handle, followed by a suspended sewing basket—a typical feature of these tables designed for needlework. The base comprises two turned column supports with a spool-turning motif, joined by a turned horizontal stretcher, resting on scrolled feet with their original metal casters.

The piece displays a beautiful antique patina with signs of wear on the top and sides, attesting to authentic and prolonged use. The casters and brass handle are original.
