The raised upper section is particularly striking, incorporating two glazed display cupboards positioned to either side of a central bevel-edged mirror. This carefully balanced arrangement gives the sideboard considerable architectural presence and provides an attractive setting for displaying fine china, glassware and decorative collections. Each display cupboard features beautifully shaped curved glass panels, an especially attractive detail that gives the piece a distinctive and sophisticated appearance. Internally, each cupboard contains a single shelf, creating two useful display levels. The central bevel-edged mirror provides an elegant focal point between the glazed cupboards, reflecting light and enhancing the visual depth of the upper section. The substantial base incorporates a spacious double-door cupboard enclosing a useful internal shelf together with its original bottle storage, making the sideboard particularly practical for dining and entertaining. Elegant cabriole legs and flowing decorative details complement the distinctive curved glazing, creating a graceful silhouette while highlighting the craftsmanship invested throughout the piece. The mahogany itself is particularly attractive, displaying beautiful natural figuring, rich warm colouring and appealing tonal variation. The quality of the timber contributes considerably to the impressive presence of the sideboard. Very well made and of fine quality, the piece demonstrates excellent craftsmanship throughout, from the shaped glazing and bevel-edged mirror to the fitted storage and decorative detailing.
