Masterfully crafted from patinated bronze. the ovoid bodies are adorned with intricate, hand-chiselled low-relief and mixed-metal inlays. The continuous decorative theme features a classic autumn landscape depicting delicate songbirds nestled amidst wild foliage, branches of chrysanthemums (kiku), and low-lying grasses highlighted with subtle gilt and warm copper alloys.
The polished brass-alloy bases display distinct lathed finishing rings along with stamped/incised inventory batch numbers ("79"), a hallmark typical of fine late 19th-century workshop exports from Japan.
Their elegant proportions, paired symmetry, and warm patination make them a striking addition to any curated collection of Asian antiques or eclectic decorative interiors. This piece has an attribution mark,
