The centrepiece is an original segmented moulded glass bowl decorated with a painted border and secured by distinctive cast-bronze starburst anchor points. The shade is suspended from its original period brass and bronze chains with S-ring fittings, creating the classic bowl-form silhouette associated with French interwar lighting. Above the shade is a highly decorative turned mahogany central column, stained and waxed to emphasize the natural grain of the timber. This unusual combination of warm mahogany, aged metal and decorative glass gives the fixture considerable character and makes it particularly attractive when illuminated. The suspension terminates in an original three-arm brass ceiling rose with decorative detailing. The light retains its period Edison screw-fit bulb holder and has been fully rewired and tested. A sophisticated and unusual example of French Art Deco lighting, well suited to an entrance hall, dining room, bedroom or period interior.
