The sideboard incorporates six useful drawers, arranged as three to either side of a central double-door cupboard. This well-balanced configuration provides an excellent combination of drawer and concealed cupboard storage while creating an attractive symmetrical façade. Particularly striking figured mahogany is displayed across the drawer fronts and cupboard doors, providing beautiful natural grain and rich colouring. The warm tones of the timber contrast elegantly with the ebonised elements of the cabinet, creating a sophisticated and highly decorative appearance. An attractive raised gallery runs along the rear of the generous worktop, adding architectural definition while providing a practical finishing detail to the upper surface. The sideboard stands on its original brass castors, an appealing period feature that adds further decorative interest while allowing this substantial piece to be repositioned more easily when required. At 150 cm wide and only 81 cm high, the unusually low proportions give the sideboard a particularly versatile and contemporary feel despite its traditional construction. The generous surface provides ample space for displaying artwork, lamps and decorative objects. Presented in good condition, displaying particularly attractive grain, rich colouring and quality craftsmanship throughout, with appropriate signs of age and historic use. A highly desirable and unusual sideboard combining spectacular figured mahogany, contrasting ebonised detailing, six practical drawers, central cupboard storage, a raised gallery and original brass castors within an exceptionally attractive low-profile design.
