Designed specifically for sewing, knitting and craft storage, the cabinet features an exceptionally practical arrangement of three central drawers, a spacious lower cupboard and two distinctive deep side compartments. These side storage pockets were traditionally intended for yarn, fabric, knitting and ongoing needlework projects, giving the piece both functional and decorative appeal. The three drawers provide convenient storage for smaller accessories and tools, while the lower cupboard offers additional capacity for larger items. Its compact flat top also allows the cabinet to double as a small work table, occasional table or bedside storage piece. Exceptionally heavy and solidly constructed for its relatively compact dimensions, the cabinet has a substantial quality that distinguishes it from many lighter sewing boxes and work tables of the period. Presented in very good vintage condition, remaining strong, stable and fully functional. The drawers and cupboard operate correctly, with only a few small scratches and light age-related marks to the top consistent with previous use. A wonderfully practical and characterful piece suitable for sewing and needlework storage, knitting supplies, jewellery, collectibles or general household storage, while also functioning beautifully as an unusual side or occasional table.
