The upper section opens to reveal a thoughtfully fitted interior, creating a practical and attractive writing space with useful compartments for stationery, correspondence and smaller personal items. When opened, the writing surface sits at a comfortable desk height of approximately 69.5 cm. Below are three generously proportioned drawers, providing excellent additional storage. Each retains its original brass handles, which complement the rich tones of the mahogany and contribute to the bureau's authentic period character. The bureau is raised upon traditional bracket feet, providing a strong and well-balanced foundation while completing its refined Edwardian silhouette. Throughout, the mahogany displays a particularly attractive natural grain with a deep, warm colour and established patina. The quality of the timber and restrained detailing give the bureau an elegant appearance suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors. At only 77 cm wide, the bureau offers the functionality of a writing desk while occupying relatively little floor space.
