Designed specifically to sit within a corner, the cabinet combines impressive height and architectural presence with a relatively compact footprint. The warm mahogany has developed a beautiful aged patina, while the highly figured veneers give the façade considerable depth and visual interest. The upper section is particularly elegant, featuring Gothic-inspired carved cornice detailing, decorative panelled doors with oval inlaid motifs and useful internal shelving. The lower cupboard provides further concealed storage, making the piece as practical as it is decorative. An especially unusual feature is the central pull-out mirrored drinks slide, incorporating its original inset mirror. This provides a convenient serving surface for drinks and glassware and suggests the cabinet could function beautifully as an elegant corner drinks or cocktail cabinet. The cabinet is constructed in two separate sections, making transportation and installation considerably easier. with its combination of flame mahogany, refined Edwardian proportions, carved architectural detailing and unusual mirrored serving slide, this is a highly decorative piece suitable for a drawing room, dining room, library, country house or sophisticated traditional interior. Presented in excellent antique condition overall and remaining structurally solid and very well preserved. There are only minor age-related marks consistent with its age, while the mirrored slide displays several small areas of staining and marking to the glass.
