This vintage mid-century modern Italian polychrome-glazed ceramic sculpture by Otello Rosa for San Polo (Venezia), Depickiting a leaping or diving harlequin dynamically suspended mid-air above a dark, rectangular wooden base. The figure is clad in a traditional patchwork harlequin costume intricately hand-painted with a vibrant, multicolored harlequin diamond pattern in gloss. With arms outstretched and legs trailing gracefully, the sculpture exhibits expressive, stylized features—including a deep red glazed face and exaggerated hands—that exemplify the bold artistic experimentation and whimsical theatrical flair of post-war Venetian art pottery.
Like much of Otello Rosa 's work this statue is unsigned
