This exceptional round piece, originating from the sophisticated weaving traditions of Peking, presents a highly refined aesthetic. Its unusual round format and classic Chinese motifs make it a highly desirable example among antique rugs.

The composition is anchored by a rich, deep field, utilizing a subtle yet powerful brown earth tone color rugs palette. This grounding color is complemented by a lighter camel border featuring a meticulously rendered, traditional Chinese fret or key motif, providing structural definition to the round form.

At the center, a large, stylized peony medallion blooms in soft shades of rose and cream, creating an immediate focal point. Surrounding this central element are four clusters of vibrant blue flowers, likely hydrangeas, linked by delicate scrolling vines characteristic of early 20th-century Chinese court aesthetics.

Measuring in the small scatter size rugs category, this round accent piece is perfectly suited for placement in an intimate entryway, beneath a small occasional table, or as a striking artistic element in a refined study. The durable, high-quality wool construction ensures its continued beauty and longevity. See less
