Beige upholstery covers the back and the seat with no tufting and no piping, which leaves the tacks and the warm wood tone to do all the work. A quiet chair with one deliberate accent.

The chair takes up 21 by 18 inches, a compact footprint for a fully upholstered design. That means eight will fit around a table where a wider chair would allow only six, and spare chairs stow flat against a wall when the table is pulled back in. The upright back is built for long dinners rather than quick meals.

Beige and medium brown are easy neighbors, so these work against oak, walnut or a painted table without argument. Use them around a dining table, at a counter height table, or as extra seating in a study that takes on guests. They pair with plain rugs, simple pendant lighting and rooms that want texture rather than color. See less
