Straight, ringed spindles fill the upper back, their bamboo-like nodes visible against a deep ebony finish. The appeal lies in the rhythm of parallel uprights and the shadow each one throws across the black. Five spindles divide the panel.
A loose cream cushion sits on the seat, pale against the frame and light enough to lift out and shake. The seat rail is carved with the same bamboo rings as the legs, and curved brackets rise from it to meet each post where the frame turns. The chair is a trim 19 inches wide and 34.5 inches high. It is sold in sets of two.
