Four inset door panels run across a paneled front, each framed by deep stepped moldings and outlined with a thin lighter inlay stringing that draws the eye across the figured grain. Slim tapered legs at the corners and a slender center support lift the case off the floor, giving an 80 inch piece a surprisingly graceful stance.

The case combines maple, quartered walnut, and walnut burl, with the burl reserved for the door fields where its cathedral figuring shows best. A medium warm brown finish with a low satin sheen lets that figure read clearly without going glossy. Small ring pulls in aged brass sit at the door meeting edges, restrained in scale and traditional in character.

The top edge is cleanly eased, and the side panels are framed to echo the front. At 80 inches wide and only 19 inches deep, this works as a dining room buffet, a long media console in a living room, or a hallway piece behind a sofa. Pair it with upholstered dining chairs in linen or leather, a large landscape painting or framed mirror above, and a pair of ceramic lamps to anchor the ends. The warm brown tones sit comfortably alongside cream, sage, navy, or rust palettes. See less
