This unique and charming rectangular lidded box is crafted in the traditional cloisonné enamel technique on a copper base. The lid is strikingly designed to resemble the King of Hearts playing card, featuring the iconic royal figure in vivid enamels against a white ground, framed by a deep blue border adorned with small red hearts.
The sides of the box feature a classic floral scroll motif with white blossoms and green foliage against a vibrant blue ground, bordered by a decorative geometric pattern at the top and base. The interior is finished in a solid, bright turquoise enamel. Originally produced for export in the late 20th century, this beautifully detailed box is perfect for storing playing cards, jewelry, or small keepsakes, and makes a wonderful conversation piece.
