This is a matching pair of large, elegant lidded jars, crafted in the traditional cloisonné enamel technique. The vessels feature a pristine white ground covered in a delicate, all-over wirework pattern of stylized clouds or scrolls. The central decoration is a bold, vibrant motif of blooming purple irises with bright green leaves, rendered in rich enamel and outlined in fine gold-toned wire.
Each jar comes with a matching domed lid that features a single iris blossom, and both feature exposed, polished copper rims at the mouth and base. The interiors are finished in a solid, bright turquoise enamel. Originally designed as tea caddies, this substantial pair is perfect for display as a centerpiece, flanking a mantel, or storing tea and small items in a living room or study.
