A striking 1995 sculptural bench designed and produced by Lee Weitzman Furniture in Chicago. Blending Art Deco glamour with Memphis-inspired geometry and Postmodern design, this exceptional piece features dramatic black lacquered triangular supports, each incorporating a concealed storage compartment beneath a lift-up top.
The elongated upholstered seat features a vibrant geometric textile in shades of purple, burgundy, red, and gray, complemented by two cylindrical bolster cushions. A stepped chrome apron runs beneath the seat, adding architectural detail and a polished contrast to the high-gloss black lacquer and colorful upholstery. Chrome accents at the base complete the design.
Both playful and sophisticated, this statement piece captures the expressive spirit of late 20th-century American design. Equally suited as a gallery-worthy entryway bench, sculptural daybed, or statement seating in a contemporary or eclectic interior.
