A wonderfully collectable vintage Genie telephone by American Telecommunications Corporation, made in the 1970s. Featuring a distinctive sculptural oval, almost football shaped, design, the telephone is wrapped in rich reddish-brown leather with contrasting dark stitching that follows its curved silhouette.
The handset rests seamlessly within the body, surrounding a recessed gold-tone push-button dial with ivory-colored buttons. A coordinating burgundy coiled cord completes the striking design.
With its futuristic shape and beautifully detailed leather covering, this distinctive telephone makes a fabulous decorative accent for a desk, bookshelf, or bedside table. Definitely a conversation starter! A charming example of late 20th-century telecommunications design, combining playful form with unexpected materials.
