Bring a touch of classic English country estate charm to your bookshelves or vanity with this exquisite 19th-century antique miniature Staffordshire spaniel figurine. Originating from the historic pottery district of Staffordshire, England, this diminutive piece—often referred to by collectors as a "salesman sample"—captures the beloved form of the traditional Victorian fireplace mantel dog in a delightfully petite scale.
The earthenware figurine features a seated spaniel meticulously molded with a hand-painted coat of rust-colored patches against a creamy white ground. It is accented by hand-brushed facial details and a gilded collar displaying a delicate lock pendant. Perfect for stacking on art books, nestling within a curiosity cabinet, or pairing with other Chinoiserie and Grand Tour treasures.
