The flat tinplate form features manually trimmed edges, prominent circular ears, and a classic pie-eyed facial design. Hand-applied paintwork delineates her white face mask, dark snout, fitted bodice, and wide gathered skirt. Independent limb mobility is achieved through simple hollow metal rivets at the shoulders and upper thighs, enabling both arms and legs to pivot freely. Small loose-fitting brass or copper-toned metal discs are fastened through eyelets at each inner heel, functioning as clappers or tap plates designed to clatter rhythmically when the figure is jiggled or suspended. The right arm bends upwards across the chest, while the extended left arm carries a circular utensil resembling a hand mirror or frying pan. Probably produced during the 1930s or 1940s, cut-sheet novelty figures of this kind were manufactured as dancing or jigging toys across the United Kingdom and continental Europe to capitalise on the cartoon craze. The reverse remains unpainted, displaying raw ferrous metal with an aged patina and minor oxidisation, while the painted face retains its original hand-finished pigments without later overpainting.

with dimensions of 15 cm in height by 6 cm across the skirt, the toy survives in sound structural order. The four primary pivot points remain firmly attached and swivel smoothly. Surface wear comprises scattered paint flaking, edge scuffs, minor scratching, and darkening to the exposed sheet metal, all typical of genuine domestic handling and age. See less
