The circular … Read more Shaded turquoise and pale sky-blue vitreous enamel fills the stylized Tudor rose plaque of this silver bar brooch. The circular floral boss sits centrally on a slender, rectangular-section bar, displaying the crisp geometric simplicity characteristic of Edwardian Arts and Crafts metalwork. The floral motif is constructed with two tiers of petals over a textured, light-reflecting ground. An inner five-petalled flower head with a rounded silver pip at the centre rests within the broader outer petals, each divided by raised silver ridges and tipped with curling corner lobes. On the reverse, the straight bar is secured by an integral hinge and a traditional looped C-clasp, alongside a cleanly stamped ""SILVER"" mark along the upper edge of the runner. Full British hallmarks are clearly struck on the back of the central disc. These include the anchor for the Birmingham assay office, the lion passant indicating sterling standard silver, and the date letter 'm' representing the year 1911. Beneath the assay stamps is the maker's mark 'J.F', denoting the prominent Birmingham jewellery manufacturer James Fenton, known for his distinctive enamelled silverwork during this period.

The brooch measures 5.2 cm in total width, with the enamelled rose motif measuring approximately 2.8 cm across. The enamel retains rich colour and gloss with no noticeable chips or cracks visible, while the original pin remains straight and seats securely in its catch. The unpolished silver shows light surface wear and a soft, natural patina consistent with age. We ship internationally, tracked.
